About
Purpose
The Ontario Association of Teachers of German (OATG) proudly supports educators at all levels, from day school credit teachers to Sprachschule educators at all levels, as well as graduate students, post-secondary instructors, and administrators involved with Deutsch-als-Fremdsprache (DaF) and Deutsch-als-Zweitsprache (DaZ) across Ontario and the country.
Our annual major event is our Fortbildungstag (Professional Development Day) in the autumn, held annually before Advent and open to all interested educators. See our Events section for full details.

Membership Application
Consider becoming a member of the OATG!
Membership in professional organizations can often be reimbursed by your school department or other sources of professional development funds. The membership fee helps to pay for our annual Fortbildungstag (Professional Development Day) in the autumn (open to all), our Jahreshauptversammlung (Annual General Meeting, open to all members), bursaries for members to attend various conferences, our national dues to the Canadian Association of Teachers of German, our information stand at the annual OMLTA Spring Conference, the reception held on the Friday evening of the OMLTA conference, and many other initiatives that support learners and educators of German across the province. Members receive regular email bulletins and reminders, as well as opportunities to be involved in initiatives from the Ministry of Education, Ontario Teachers' Federation, and our German-language partners.
Annual membership costs $30 for one year. Membership dues can also be claimed on your federal income taxes.
