Save the dates! Fall-Winter events with the OATG

OATG – October 2016 Update: SAVE THE DATES!

Schönen Guten Tag!

We all hope that your first month back in the classroom has been an outstanding one.

Please note these dates. Some dates of importance:

Friday, October 21: Ministry of Education Subject/Division Forum (OATG will be there)
Saturday, October 22: Ontario Teachers’ Federation Curriculum Forum (OATG will again be present)
These are important events where subject associations obtain first-hand information about new initiatives, latest trends, and important ideas, which subject associations (such as OATG) can then pass on to their members. This is another tool to disseminate purposeful information to Ontario educators (i.e., in addition to school boards and unions). Watch for updates from us about the information shared in the coming weeks.

SAVE THE DATE: Sunday, November 27
OATG Fortbildungstag – Hamilton/Burlington area

SAVE THE DATE: Friday, March 31-Saturday, April 1, 2017:

With the revised curriculum for International Languages now available, this association anticipates offering a full day of workshops for teachers of languages other than French. The OATG will have a booth, giveaways, and our annual dinner meeting for members in good standing. We anticipate offering bursaries to OATG members in good standing to attend.

SAVE THE DATE: Sunday, April 9, 2017: Ontario High School German Contest – Hamilton area (location and times TBA)

We are approaching the 50th anniversary of our event. Join us as we celebrate our province’s best and brightest students! New categories this year to allow even more students to take part!

To take part in these amazing events, be sure to contact your school administration, union, parent council, and other related groups in order to attend.

Save these dates! As always, we will keep you informed about additional events from Goethe-Institut, ZfA, DAAD, and our other partners!

Please do not hesitate to be in touch with any questions.

Mit besten Grüßen aus Toronto,
Jimmy Steele
OATG President
